“The Boltgun, also commonly referred to as the Bolter, is the standard weapon of the Adeptus Astartes and Adepta Sororitas. Both groups view it as a holy symbol of the Emperor's wrath.

The Boltgun fires a self-propelled .75 calibre explosive 'bolt' which explodes once it has penetrated its target, effectively blowing it apart from the inside. Boltguns are heavy, sturdy weapons with powerful recoil that normal humans find difficult to handle, especially on full automatic fire.
